Many crew employment solutions utilise one company to employ the crew of many different yachts and while some do achieve a level of protection by setting up separate ’cells’ within the one company it is still an untested scheme and therefore carries higher risk. Cornerstone never employs crew of different yachts within the same company giving much higher levels of security and protection to yacht owners.
Each yacht has its own dedicated Crew Employment Company the sole purpose of which is to employ the crew for their yacht. This isolates each yacht from any others helping in creating a safer layer of protection for owners and crew
Who we are
Cornerstone Crew Management was established in 2011, as a specialist and dedicated company providing exceptional employment services to the owners and crew in the superyacht industry. An organisation focused on every detail and regulation, ensuring that crew are paid what they are due, when it’s due, on time, every time. It is our belief that a happy crew, employed correctly and treated properly, contribute significantly to any yacht operating at its optimum – impacting positively on the experience of owners and guests alike.
What we do
By utilising our employment structures, not only does this take away the burden of managing the crew and arranging the monthly payroll but it also
separates crew employment liabilities from any yacht ownership structure that may be in place.
Ewan Heap
Client Services Manager
Ewan is the Client Services Manager of Cornerstone with over 25 years in the financial services industry. Ewan is experienced in all aspects of employment and payroll services including flag state employment rules, MLC and crew contracts.
Alan Hollingsworth
Co Director
Alan is one of the co founders and is a co director with over 35 years experience in financial services. Alan’s primary role is strategic, focussing on ensuring the business is compliant, remains compliant and he is constantly following market trends for changes that might effect how crew are employed and remunerated in the future.
John Stevens
Client Accountant
John joined the team in November 2023 to provide essential accountancy and administration support to the team. John has worked in the financial services sector for over 30 years and brings a wealth of experience to the role and the team. Additionally John is assisting with the implementation and roll out of the crew management software Cornerstone is developing.
David Kneen
Senior Crew Administrator
Dave joined Cornerstone in April 2020 having previously worked alongside Ewan at a local accountancy business providing yacht related services for several years, amongst other responsibilities. Dave brings many years’ experience in the industry to the team with incredible attention to detail ensuring crew
are paid on time, every time.
Leila Nafa
Sales & Marketing Manager
Leila joined the team in 2023. Following having a family, Leila has returned to work in the yachting industry. She is a valuable addition to the team and brings with her a wealth of industry and marketing knowledge.
