Fire in Olbia Shipyard

25th April 2025

On Tuesday, April 22nd, a devastating fire erupted at the Nautica Acqua shipyard in Olbia’s industrial zone of Cala Saccaia. The blaze destroyed approximately 40 boats stored inside the facility, with damages estimated in the tens of millions of euros. Eyewitnesses reported a vast plume of black smoke visible for miles, prompting a swift response from emergency services. Fortunately, all ten workers present at the time evacuated safely without injuries.

The fire is believed to have started on a boat stored inside the company’s shed, which specializes in pleasure boats and luxury yachts. Strong gusts of wind exacerbated the situation, causing the flames to spread rapidly. Local authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire, with preliminary reports suggesting a possible electrical malfunction.
